Portfolio

This is my blog being used for this portfolio the name no shaking throne came from the chapter of a manga i like to read. my project for digital portfolio that i was going to do was a flash that has not been completed yet the first episode might be completed by the beginning of next year so i decided to just show my blog and a few sketches uploded as project ideas.

Weekly goals #3

MY goal for this week is to work towards finishing the fight scene for my animation and to add sound to my animation so that i can have almost part of my flash ready for my portfolio.

4/15/08 Blog Reflection

So far i have completed my first scene pertaining to the introduction to my digital portfolio project which was flash animation. Now that i have finally installed Flash on my mac I will now be able to work from home on completing my end of the year project.

Weekly goals 4/15/2008

There is nothing much that i have to do for this week. All i need is to finish my second scene the problem is that it will take is more than this week to finish so i will rephrase this statement to say that i will try to make a good amount of progress in my second scene.

4/8/2008 goal reflection

I finished my goal up to a point. So i got through my first scene but did not start working on my second scene and i did watch a few animations and even looked at some good tutorials that i used to adjust my first scene.

To finish my first scene in my flash and to get started working on my second scene as well as looking at other flash animations giving me a chance to look and learn how to make the animation move smoothly

1. What is the best environment (home, school, work, etc.) for your learning? My best learning environment is my home because i get to listen to music and be more relaxed.
2. Where do you choose to study?At school because if i do it at home ill get bored quickly and go do something else at school i will be able to focus more at studying.

4. How do you work with others? pretty well i get my work done and i get my ideas through.

My Proposal

My name is Kimani Reid I am an eleventh grader, My project is a flash mini series that i will present only the first episode while creating the other episodes. I dont believe that this will teach the class anything but i do believe that it connects with two of the habits of minds. The first is Imagination because i am using the characters that i created in their world that i created as well, the next is commitment because if i don't have patience with the program i will either quit on the project or break bills computer.
After thinking through what i was going to do for this class i came upon two decisions. the first was to do a digital comic about a character i made or a flash that would have something to do with the government and how evil they really are I drew out the characters and gave them names and figured out which one would be the main character which took longer than i thought it would.
Then we presented and when it was my turn i did not really have a good idea of what i was going to do so i got some ideas from my peers and the one that stuck with me was to use the characters and make a flash to make a mini series about my characters and what goes on in their world. The main challenge in this project is to make the flash itself because this kind of work i have never done before so i am learning at the same time.
I have also come to the conclusion that animation is harder than it looks but these are only my first steps on my road to pursuing a career in animation so i have to have some sort of knowledge of Flash.I believe that i am very committed because i havent given up yet so with this i will conclude and consider myself successful in being imaginative and committed in doing this project.

Materials

I dont need much because most of the materials i need i already have such as

-my sketch book(which holds my sketchs of characters and my story line)

-and Flash (which i need to learn how to animate things as well as draw on the computer)

So pretty much Im set

Backwards plan

what my backwards plan is for me to create a flash that can be put on my blog or on the internet altogether as well as get better at writing story boards. on a whole I have decided that my final step in this project is to get my skills in flash to grow allowing me to make better flash animation better than the one i will be showing to the class.

MINI SERIES

I have decided to make a mini series about my character and his adventures in his world and his story. I have drawn out the characters and villians, i know that my choice is a tough and challenging since i am making a mini series while learning flash but i might as well give it a shot.
